Perfect for family dinners or game nights, these flautas offer a satisfying crunch and an explosion of taste in every bite. Easy to prepare and visually appealing, they make a fantastic appetizer or main dish that will impress your guests and leave them craving more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 cup canned low-sodium black beans, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt (for dipping)
  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix black beans, cheese, cumin, chili powder, and cilantro. Mash lightly until combined.
  2. Warm tortillas slightly to make them pliable. Lay flat and spoon 2 tablespoons of filling onto one edge; roll tightly.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Fry flautas seam-side down for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve with sour cream or Greek yogurt for dipping.
