- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 4 soft brioche buns
- Condiments: ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper; form into four equal patties.
- Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a cheese slice on each patty to melt.
- In another pan, caramelize sliced onions in oil over medium heat until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
- Toast the brioche buns on the grill.
- Assemble by adding condiments to each bun, then topping with patties and caramelized onions.
