  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and garlic finely. Cube the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  4. Stir in cumin and chili powder; sauté for an additional minute. Add softened cream cheese and mix until melted.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and canned green chilies. Bring to simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Just before serving, stir in lime juice and top with cilantro if desired.
