Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz fresh cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine (sweet or dry)
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter

Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients by gathering them on the countertop.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Sauté sliced mushrooms and chopped shallots until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Increase heat to medium-high and brown the chicken in the skillet for 5-7 minutes per side until golden.
- Remove chicken from skillet. Add minced garlic to drippings and sauté until fragrant, then pour in Marsala wine, scraping up brown bits from the pan.
- Stir in chicken broth and return chicken to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
