- ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; stir until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples gently until evenly distributed.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar on top. Add remaining batter and top with remaining brown sugar.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
