Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: Red sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and hot water until just mixed.

  4. Once baked, let the cakes cool slightly and poke holes all over each cake using a fork.
  5. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over both cakes while still warm. Allow them to absorb for about 30 minutes.
  6. Prepare the frosting by beating together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Stack the layers with half of the frosting between them; frost the top and sides of the entire cake with remaining frosting. Decorate with optional sprinkles.
