  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted, plus more for brushing)
  • 3 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small balls (about 1 inch). Roll each ball in melted butter and then coat with everything bagel seasoning.
  6. Arrange the coated dough balls in a greased bundt or loaf pan. Cover and allow to rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
