  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries under cold water and remove the green tops. Slice them in half.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and water. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Heat over medium until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice for added flavor. Allow to cool slightly before straining if desired.
