  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped (divided)
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into even chunks.
  2. Boil in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes; drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, mash cooked sweet potatoes until smooth. Mix in melted butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Fold in half of the chopped pecans and spread mixture in a greased baking dish.
  5. Combine remaining pecans with additional brown sugar and melted butter; sprinkle over sweet potato mixture.
