Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&M's candies
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Remove from heat and stir in both sugars until combined.
  3. Cool slightly, then whisk in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this into the wet mixture until just combined—do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in half of the M&M's into the batter, reserving the rest for topping.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan, sprinkle remaining M&M's on top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown.
