Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into four equal patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear each patty for about 4 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Add sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute to eliminate raw flour taste.
  5. Gradually pour in beef broth and soy sauce while stirring continuously. Simmer until thickened (3-5 minutes).
  6. Return the patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
