- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 3 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup currants or raisins
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Create a well in the dry ingredients; add yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Mix until you form a sticky dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough, fold in currants/raisins, then divide into 12 pieces and shape into buns.
- Place on a greased baking sheet to rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
